Trailer problems.

In the process for uploading the trailer that we created, two of the pieces wouldn't show up once uploaded to Charlotte and Gemma's blogs. I have decided to not upload the trailer to my blog and have burnt it to the CD that Charlotte, Gemma and I will be marked from as the full trailer should there play properly.

Trailer analysis.

Charlotte, Gemma and I have finally finished our trailer and are very happy with the overall out come. To create this and actually be happy with it we had to film very long scenes and cut out the snappy bits that we thought were the most effective. Whilst creating out trailer, we continued to ask our peers to help give criticism. The thing we were told most was that it was too much like a "mini movie" rather than a trailer. So we cut scenes down, swapped them about and added in a few flashing images to add more suspense.

To create more of an eerie effect we needed to add some music and effects to our shots. We used iMovie to create our trailer and luckily built in were sound effects that we could use to add suspense to our trailer for the audience. We added a voiceover with a radio effect to give the feeling that 'Charlie' has been kidnapped which keeps the audience involved and wondering 'what's happening?'

After changing the last few snaps we as a group sat down with the other groups and gave feedback after watching them all. We thankfully recieved very nice comments from our peers. Also everyone who viewed it said that we had an excellent use of sound and liked the fact that we hadn’t given too much away as we didn’t include any shots of the killer. They said it looked very professional as all the shots flowed well together giving a great final trailer.

The one thing that we did face as being a problem is the length of our film and this was a huge issue for us. Most trailers that we watched and analyised were around about 1.30-2minutes and ours is only 1minute 8 seconds. But due to having the snappy atmosphere and the suspense feeling we created whilst doing so we were not all that fussed. And are happy with the overall out come.

Poster idea's.

I have began to create my poster and here are the sketches and comments and points I recieved to change them for the final piece.



With this poster I recieved the following pointers for next time:

• Try playing and moving the title, as everything else you seem to do is always the same.


• Play around with the font and text rather than all being on one side and the image on the left.


• Different images to give the audience more of an idea.


• Make 'Based on true events..' bigger so that it catches the audiences eye more, it was hard for me to read.


• Who are the producers?

These points helped me to create the following:

From creating this I then recieved the points below before creating and playing with my own picutres for my final poster:

• Make the title bigger but keep it where it is for now. It's different and stands out more.
• Make the 'Starring' more neat and not so cramped.
• 'Directed by' like 'starring' is too cramped, play with this.
• Make the main image more exciting, the posters pretty plain.

From taking these points I have began to create my own finalised poster.

Final Website

Trailer update//Second website design.

The editing of our trailer is coming along really well. We added some short snippet scenes of different areas that we thought would be more effective for the audiences reaction and the feed back from our peers so far has been positive with a few comments that have helped us to improve so far. We have added scenes in an underpass area, a garage which helped with the lighting because it helped create a dark and eerie atmosphere and the river shot rather than the quarry.

Besides this I have been working on my website designs and my final website home page. Here is my second draft and design that has been annotated and commented on again by class mates.

So now having created this website design I will take the following points into consideration for my next design before finishing my final website:

• Move the trailer box to the right hand side.
• Make the advert/help box more effective and to stand out more.
• Try different colors rather than the sterotypical horror blood color of red.
• Try re-arranging 'Based on true events' text.
• Different title poistioning.

1st website design.



Whilst filming and editing our film trailer we have also began to design our website. This is my first design.

Whilst designing my website I asked other students in the class for ideas and ways to change the website design above. The feed back I followed was as followed:

• Add a photo of the character in the film itself. 
• More color and more information.
• Possibly links for people/parents experiencing the same problems.
  

Now whilst creating my next design before creating my final website I shall take these points into consideration.

Creating our trailer.

As we have now created our mood-board and drawn out the scenes needed for our trailer, Charlotte, Gemma and I can now start to record.

We will be using the following locations for our trailer:
1. School setting.
2. Girls house/bedroom.
3. Alleyway
4. Local streets.
5. The Quarry.

Website analysis again.

Today I looked at the website for the horror film "The haunting in conneticut."

Whilst viewing and analysing this website I found that now both of the website's I have viewed all have introduction pages before entering the real website. Charlotte, Gemma and I will take this into consideration with our own website.

I will now analyse my final website and begin to make our trailer.

Website analyse

In today's lesson I looked at the website for the film 'Paranormal activity'.

From looking at the website home page I have noticed very many convetions of horror on here itself. The font is all caplocked to give the feel that it's very serious. The red glow gives the feel of death and blends well against the black again giving the feeling of death. The yellow and white contrast both colours to bring some light to it.
